Hi. Please ignore my test:-) More to come later.
One of my all time favorite things to do in the fall is visit the State Fair. Yesterday was dollar day if you brought canned goods. I was all about that!
We had a mommy and daughter day. No boys allowed! It was nice taking our time and having girly fun.
I had to laugh at how calm she was at the Little Hands on the Farm exhibit. I’m so used to my son running through everything like it’s a race. We’ll have to go back and ride the wild rides with my son and husband later. This day was all about the animals and food!
The Back Yard Circus.
My little one sat up front with her friends. I was so annoyed at a girl who sat next to my daughter. She had a giant piece of cotton candy. When she would run out, she would go back to her mom and get more. I was waiting for my daughter to throw a fit that she didn’t have any. I mean, it was candy and PINK her favorite.
She’s giving her the eye. The big girl is NOT giving in to her stare.
No crying! Thankfully the show started and there was more to look at than pink cotton candy.
On our way to look at the animals!
This guy weighs 1200 lbs!
Speaking of pigs… I made it my mission to try as many fried foods as my stomach would allow!! I was glad to have my friend Toby to help me eat all these goodies! Yeah, we made his wife sick:-)
Mmmmm.. Chicken Fried Bacon. Can you say heart attack??
My favorite! Deep Fried Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough covered in chocolate, powdered sugar and nuts!
Strawberries dipped in waffle batter, deep fried, then dipped in chocolate and deep fried again!
More Yummy Food!
Other fun stuff…
Check out my Flickr page for more State Fair pics. I took way too many!
FYI: Julia is having a Hooked on House Tours blog party on October 24. Get your house ready to show, it should be fun!!

Alright girly girls…. I found the cutest thing for you crafty types! Who says you can’t afford a Hermés bag? Now you can download one for free and make it yourself! Go to their web site and click on “the world of Hermés”. This is a great idea for party crafts and favors for kids and adults. I’m going to download them all to save for future parties! This is my favorite. Oh, and the red balloon one is adorable!

This is my all time favorite time of the year. I can’t wait to visit a pumpkin patch. I wish I lived near this guy’s house!
Last year Ed’s display attracted in excess of 15,000 people and well over 1,000 trick-or-treaters.
Ed started to carve pumpkins when he was about 6 years old. He didn’t start sculpting smaller pumpkins until 15 years ago and graduated to giant pumpkins 7 years ago when his 5 year dream of carving a Cinderella pumpkin came true with his purchase of a 590 lb. pumpkin. He is now known for his Cinderella carriage pumpkin every year.

This is a story about a little girl and her lollipop. Lollipops are the little girl’s favorite treat.
After peeing on the potty, the girl was rewarded with a delicious “pink wallypop”. Pink is her all time favorite color, so this meant the girl was very happy. Her mommy was also happy to have a few moments to herself, when all the sudden the happy girl started screaming! “My pink wallypop, My pink wallyop!” “Rocky noooooooo!!!” Just then the girl’s very fat and furry cat, Rocky who usually moves ultra slow, darted out the room. Mommy came to the rescue, thinking the lollipop had fallen on the floor, was surprised when there was nothing there. The girl looked desperately at her mommy and yelled “Rocky took it!” The cat must have really stolen the lollipop!! Why would a cat want to steal a little girl’s lollipop?
Turns out this poor kitty didn’t want the lollipop at all, but it had gotten stuck to his fuzzy fur! The little girl and her mother laughed and laughed as the poor cat ran around the house. Finally, the cat was caught and the lollipop removed. The girl got a new lollipop, the mommy got a blog story and everyone lived happily ever after. The end.
Check back tomorrow for the BIG 80’s HAIR CONTEST WINNER!!! You will get a good laugh!

Today our pastor explained that contentment means your happiness not being dependent upon your circumstances. When you get what you want, you’ll just want something else. Wow! That is so true. I never realized that you have to learn to be content. I just figured those who seemed content, had that type of personality or had a great life. But in reality, they have just learned to be that way.
I hope you have a great Sunday and learn to be content. I know I needed this lesson:-)
Verses of the day:
“I know how to live on almost nothing or with everything. I have learned the secret of contentment in every situation.” Phil. 4:12 (LB)
“There is great gain in godliness combined with contentment; for we brought nothing into the world and we can take nothing out of it.” 1 Tim. 6:6-7 (NRSV)
You can listen to any of Pastor George’s sermons via internet on his Pod Casts.
